Maldives is nominated for two categories, the “Seven Star Destination Winner” and “Special Achievements Award” at the prestigious Seven Star Global Luxury Awards 2014 to be held at The Chateau Spa & Organic Wellness Resort, Malaysia on 14th June 2014.
The Minister of Tourism Hon. Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor is nominated for the “Outstanding Achievement in Tourism” category. Last year, Minister Adeeb was given a special Award in the “Outstanding Achievement in Tourism” for having maintained the flow of Tourism in the Maldives through extraordinary times and successfully carried the country through a major recession.
Maldives will be competing with other world class destinations such as Dubai, Seychelles, Mauritius and Singapore in the “Seven Star Destination Winner” category.
Maldives will be routing to win these awards for the second time in a row after having won these awards at the 2013 Seven Star Luxury Destination Awards.
Hon. Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor, Minister of Tourism, and Mr. Abdulla Ziyath, Managing Director of Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation, will be attending the awards ceremony.
The Seven Star Luxury Awards are known as the highest and most exclusive international luxury award for the pinnacle in hospitality & lifestyle. The award recognises and sets apart the extraordinary achievements in the hospitality and lifestyle sectors by bestowing upon winners the Signum Virtutis – the seal of excellence.
The voting for the prestigious awards is done by both the Trade (Travel Agents, Tour Operators, Industry Professionals) as well as the Public on the Seven Star Global Luxury Award website. Being nominated and winning of such awards indicate the visitors' love and confidence towards the destination and will enhance the product image in terms of a high profile luxury destination.
