NOKU MALDIVES SET TO OPEN IN AUGUST 2018



Noku Maldives has announced plans to open its shores to guests in August.

A corporate dinner was held at Hotel Jen in capital Male Thursday where the resort’s General Manager Justin Heng shared the exciting announcement with travel industry partners. A lucky draw was also taken, giving two winners complimentary stays at Noku Maldives as well as its sister property, Noku Kyoto in Japan.

Previously operated as Zitahli Kuda-Funafaru Resort by AAA Hotels and Resorts, Roxy-Pacific Holdings Ltd of Singapore acquired the leasehold interests of the island in 2016 from the local resort operator.

After extensive renovation of guest villas, public spaces and F&B outlets, the resort will open as Noku Maldives on August 1.

Located on the island of Kuda Funafaru in the northern Noonu atoll, Noku Maldives is accessible by a scenic 45-minute seaplane flight from the main Velana International Airport.



Nestled amidst luscious tropical greenery and enveloped by a peaceful blue lagoon are 20 beach villas and 30 overwater villas. Each spacious unit is designed to offer utmost privacy and fitted with modern amenities to provide comfort. The refined elegance of each villa with its soft white hues and dark wood accents complement the beauty of nature seen through large bay windows and french doors.





The spacious beachfront Palms Restaurant serves up à la carte and buffet-style dining, while the menu of Thari Restaurant features elements of Thai, Japanese and Singaporean cuisine — flavourful tastes of the countries where Noku hotels are located in. The Palms Bar allows guests to indulge in refreshing cocktails that blend Eastern and Western influences. Guests can also have a thirst quenching beverage from the Thari Bar and lounge at the large main pool area.





Embracing nature is an integral aspect of the wellness programme at Noku Maldives. Rejuvenation begins with a beautiful garden walkway leading up to six double treatment suites with a relaxing view of the ocean. Each treatment room is thoughtfully designed as a sanctuary where stone and wooden accents achieve a deep sense of calm and relaxation. The wellness treatments use natural ingredients to enhance total wellbeing.



The pristine location of Noku Maldives houses a thriving marine ecosystem that includes dolphins, rays and populous fish diversity. Professional dive instructors at the resort’s dive centre will show guests the rich diversity of marine life suitable for all levels of experiences. Guests can also catch the light ocean breeze on a chartered catamaran, or feel the adrenaline rush while riding the waves on a jet ski or windsurfing activities.



Noku Maldives is the second property to be marketed under Roxy’s premium Noku brand. The first opened in Kyoto, Japan in November 2015.

Roxy also runs the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy hotel in Singapore and the Noku Osaka hotel in the Japanese city of Osaka. A brand new property on the Thai island of Phuket, Noku Phuket is also set to launch soon.

10 New Resort Openings in Maldives


In the year 2018 or so is going to be a busy time for the hospitality trade in The Maldives. A clutch of 10 new hotels will fling open their doors throughout 2018 and into early 2019, expanding its already well-established portfolio of luxury resorts.

Much loved by tourists for its beaches, blue lagoons and extensive reefs tourism in the Maldives has been steadily growing and recent figures reveal that it is 7.9% up on the same time last year. To accommodate the influx of holidaymakers an impressive 20 resorts have opened since 2013, 20 new resorts have already opened.

The most recent opening of Fushifaru Maldives, Reethi Faru and Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort have been well received but hotly anticipated openings for 2018 and 2019 include Mӧvenpick Resort & Spa Kuredhivaru Maldives, Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, Carpe Diem Beach Resort & Spa, the Italian-designed Baglioni Resort Maldives, ultra-luxurious Waldorf Astoria Maldives, LUX* North Malé Atoll, and four-star OBLU SELECT at Sangeli.

Konotta Maldives Resort Open For Sales

The Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort has opened bookings for the resort which is slated for opening on 1 August 2015. Special rates have been offered for the first ever visitors to this brand new resort.

The Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort opening rates are now “live” for all pool villas, comprising 24 Beach Pool Villas (211 sqm), seven Two-Bedroom Pool Villas (282 sqm), 21 Ocean Pool Villas (225 sqm), and the Presidential Villa (600 sqm).

Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort is located less than 50 kilometres north of the equator, 340 kilometres to the south of Malé and conveniently accessible via a 55-minute flight to Kaadedhdhoo Airport, followed by a scenic 20-minute journey on a private speedboat.

Mirihi Island Resort

Accommodations
There are both beach and ocean villas. You can stay in one type for a spell and then switch to get the experience of both. The bathrooms have two basins and there inside and outside showers. The ocean villas are steps away from the reef. There have been some great sightings of marine life swimming past one's bedroom.

Things To Do
Start off your day with a massage, a turkish bath, or a relaxing walk on the beach. It also has a water sports center, where you can learn diving techniques. Next, spend the afternoon windsurfing, snorkeling, fishing or improving your tennis game. Have a barbecue at one of the open barbecue pits while chatting or watching the surf come in. Cool off in an infinity pool. There is even a pool for the kids. Spend the evening watching the moon rise by the outdoor torches. Spend the next day visiting historic mosques, museums, or even other islands.

Best Time To Go
Adaaran Select Meedhupparu is in a tropical zone. February through April are the hottest months of the year, and they are also very busy. The time around Christmas and New Year are one of the busiest times of year, as well as Easter and one week in August, during the Italian holiday season.

There are two monsoon seasons. From December to March comes from the northeast. The other monsoon season is southwest and occurs from May to November. It is characterized by strong winds and rain.

May through November is characterized by a higher occurrence of humid, cloudy and eve stormy weather. Off-season rates can apply, except in August.

The best time to go diving is pretty much year round, though marine life on the reef is more visible on the west side of any atoll from May to November and on the east side of any atoll from December through April.

May through November has a higher occurrence of humid, cloudy and eve stormy weather. Off-season rates can apply, except in August.
