Famed Pakistani singer Atif Aslam will be performing in the opening show of the tourism promotion campaign, Visit Maldives Year 2016.
The announcement was made on the official Facebook pages of Visit Maldives and Atif Aslam.
According to the post, Aslam will be performing on the second night of the opening shows held December 30 – 31 at Alimas Carnival in capital Malé.

Atif Aslam, who entered the music industry during college, rose to fame with songs such as Aadat, Bheegi Yaadein, Ehsaas and Ankhon Se. His entrance into Bollywood with Woh Lamhe for director Mahesh Bhatt’s film “Zeher” became an instant hit, later followed by songs such as Aadat for film “Kalyug”, Tere Bin for “Bas Ek Pal” and Pehli Nazar Pein for “Race”. He is currently one of the most popular singers in India and has gained much fame in the Maldives as well.
Visit Maldives Year 2015 also featured famed Indian sibling singing duo Salim-Sulaiman’s performances during the show, which received a lot of public support.
Visit Maldives Year 2016 is organised by the tourism ministry with main partner Public Service Media (PSM).
