Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) have started a broadcasting contest in France from 28th September until the 9th of October 2015. This contest is being held in collaboration with a top French musical radio station 'RFM radio'.
The radio station RFM was founded on 6th June 1981 by Patrick Meyer. It offers musical programs like rock, world music and French music in stereo audio.
The game contest involves announcements made about Maldives in various spots. Additionally Maldives will be promoted in the social media platforms of the RFM radio station. From 28th September to 9th October 2015, each evening listeners will be chosen for the RFM QUIZZ and three of them will be asked questions about Maldives. If the listeners answer all three questions they will be selected for the grand draw on 9th of October. Two winners will be selected in this grand draw. Coco palm Dhuni Kolhu and Sun Siyam Iru Fushi will be hosting the winners of this contest. Winners are eligible for a full board 7 night stay for 2 in Maldives including the tickets.
The objective of this campaign is to draw attention of the audience and gives a positive image of Maldives and to increase awareness about the various activities to do in Maldives such as diving, cruises, family vacations and the exotic marine life. Through campaigns like this we aim to reach out to a wide range of audience in the utmost effective ways.
France is one of the most important traditional markets to the Maldives. MMPRC aims to revive and regain market share through the new marketing strategy for France which includes consumer based campaigns such as the RFM radio campaign, maximizing the destination’s presence at the most important exhibition targeting the French travel trade, IFTM Top Resa and implementation of PR communications in the market throughout the year. By the end of July 2015, 27,274 tourist arrivals were recorded from France. France is the fifth largest market to Maldives with a 3.8% market share.
