Grand Music Festival for Visit Maldives Year 2016

The grand music festival was hosted to promote Visit Maldives Year 2016 on 25th July. Popular Indian pop-rock band, Sanam entertained the audiences from 21:00 hours. Performances by various local artists was also add to the grandness of the music festival.

This event was organised by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to promote the Visit Maldives Year 2016. This campaign which targets to increase the tourist arrival numbers to 1.5 million in the coming year was launched during the UNWTO conference.

Event planners hope to create a buzz in the social media about the Maldives through this music festival. Event Manager Mohamed Shifau said that the event was part of their campaign to increase tourist arrivals. By bringing in foreign artists, they hoped to get a lot of people talking about the event on social media and that wwould promote the Maldives as a destination.”
