The advent of summer and ending of football season in major European leagues has seen a number of football stars preferring a holiday in the Maldives. Over the years, the Maldives has become the ultimate getaway for footballers after a grueling season. John Terry and Luis Suarez are the latest football stars who have chosen to touch down on the white sandy beaches of Maldives.
John Terry is the captain of Chelsea Football Club. Under his captaincy Chelsea F.C secured the top spot of last season’s Barclay’s Premier League. Media sources has reported that John Terry visited the Maldives along with his family.
Luis Suarez also visited the Maldives yesterday. It is reported that he is spending his holiday at Niyama Maldives resort located in Dhaalu Atoll.
Luis Suarez transferred to Barcelona last season and in his first season the team has secured a treble. The Barcelona attacking trio dubbed MSN after Messi, Neymar and Suarez won this season’s Champions league recently. Suarez scored in the Champion’s league final.
Both John Terry and Luis Suarez was photographed at the airport by their Maldivian fans. In addition to John Terry and Luis Suarez, other footballers have visited the Maldives recently. The list include Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker and Manchester City midfielder David Silva.
