Over-Water Spa at Loama Maldives

The newly opened Loama Maldives has opened the doors of its brand new spa to visitors. Exceptionally this brand new spa is set on both water and land. Treatment rooms of the spa is uniquely situated in the crystal clear lagoon which connects it to the land via a wooden jetty.

The spa was designed by Barry Warrington of IS Wellness. The positioning of the spa is specially designed to capture the sunset by facing it to the southwest.

Warrington said regarding the conceptualization of Loama Maldives spa “We began the project with exhaustive research on the history of this seafaring nation, the various influences, trade routes, traditional herbal cures and various treatments dating back to antiquity.”

You can marvel the beauty of the lagoon while enjoying the spa treatment. The over-water spa has glass floors overlooking the lagoon.

The result of the exhaustive research is ” Loama Spa is, to the best of my knowledge, the first modern Maldivian spa concept that has a claim to authenticity and a cultural focus” according to Warrington.

Treatments available in Loama Maldives spa combines Maldivian, Swedish and Thai massage and acupressure techniques.

The spa experience will be “delivered by highly-trained Maldivians” according to Warrington.

The spa becomes the latest wellness offering at Loama Maldives, following a fitness centre, yoga and meditation sessions and an outdoor swimming pool.
